1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Duet (“Duet,” “we,” “us” or “our”). By downloading, accessing or using Duet, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Duet.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement. Duet is designed for adults in dating, engaged, married or long-distance relationships. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with laws that apply to you.

3. What Duet provides

Duet provides conversation prompts, couple questions, games, reminders and related relationship activities intended to support meaningful time together. Features may vary by platform, region, app version and subscription status.

Duet is not medical care, mental health treatment, relationship therapy, crisis support or professional advice. Content is for general informational and entertainment purposes. Do not rely on Duet for emergencies or decisions requiring qualified professional advice.

4. Anonymous account and device access

Duet creates an anonymous account rather than asking for an email or password. You are responsible for access to your device and for keeping it secure. Anonymous accounts may not be recoverable after the app is deleted, device storage is cleared or the device is lost.

You agree to provide accurate information when personalizing Duet and not to use the service in a way that violates another person’s privacy or rights. You may request deletion as described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Duet Pro, purchases and renewals

Duet may offer free features and paid access through Duet Pro. Available products may include monthly, yearly or lifetime access. The price, billing period, included features and any trial terms are displayed before you confirm a purchase.

  • Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play and are subject to the store account and payment terms you accepted.
  • Auto-renewable subscriptions renew unless cancelled through your store account before the renewal deadline shown by the store.
  • You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple or Google account settings. Deleting Duet does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their applicable policies, except where law requires otherwise.
  • “Lifetime” means access for the supported lifetime of the Duet product and does not guarantee that every future feature will be included or that the service will operate indefinitely.

We may change future prices or offerings. Changes to an existing auto-renewable subscription take effect only as permitted by the applicable store and law, with any required notice or consent.

6. Acceptable use

You may not:

  • use Duet for unlawful, abusive, threatening or harmful conduct;
  • attempt to access another user’s data or bypass access controls;
  • reverse engineer, disrupt, overload or interfere with the service, except where applicable law permits;
  • copy, resell or commercially exploit Duet content without permission;
  • use automated systems to scrape content or probe the service;
  • misrepresent your identity or rights to use submitted information.

7. License and intellectual property

Subject to these Terms, Duet grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for non-commercial purposes on devices you own or control, subject to applicable app store rules.

Duet, its design, software, prompts, graphics, trademarks and other content are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of Duet or its content to you.

You retain rights in information you enter into Duet. You grant us only the limited rights needed to process that information and operate the service as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Third-party services

Duet relies on services provided by Firebase, RevenueCat, Apple and Google. Their services may be governed by separate terms. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control, but we select providers that support Duet’s operation and security.

9. Availability and disclaimers

We work to keep Duet reliable, but the service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

We may update, suspend or discontinue features for maintenance, security, legal or product reasons. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Duet will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, goodwill or business arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for claims relating to Duet will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for Duet in the twelve months before the claim or USD 50.

These limits do not apply where prohibited by law, including to liability that cannot be limited or excluded under mandatory consumer protection rules.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Duet at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially violate these Terms, create security or legal risk, or misuse the service. Where reasonable, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability and dispute provisions—will survive.

12. App store terms

If you downloaded Duet through Apple or Google, the applicable store terms also apply. Apple and Google are not responsible for Duet’s support except as required by their terms or applicable law.

For iOS users, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement applies unless a valid custom license agreement is presented through the App Store. If mandatory app store terms conflict with these Terms, the mandatory store terms control to that extent.

13. Changes and applicable law

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here, update the effective date and provide additional notice when required. Your continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms, unless applicable law requires another form of consent.

These Terms are governed by applicable law, without limiting any mandatory consumer rights or protections available where you live. Before bringing a formal claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

14. Contact

Questions about these Terms may be sent to the Duet team at contact@arbacyapps.com.
